Stranger
Who is a
stranger? Technically a stranger is someone whom you’ve never met before. I’ve
heard my parents say to me when I was a child that I should not to talk to
strangers because they might try and hurt you. But in this day and age, the
word ‘stranger’ is not confined to what can be set down on a paper.
The world we
live in is one which is supported largely by technology. You literally cannot
see a person without a cell phone these days. Everyone is so invested in their
cell phones that even the people they live with is a stranger to themselves.
The only sibling I have is a sister and if someone asks me do I know what her
favourite colour is, honestly I would have to say, No I don’t. That is how much
the word ‘Stranger’ has evolved over the decade or so.
A person who
was once a stranger, is your closest friend and the person whom you live with
is a stranger. The irony speaks for itself. Then there are also people who had
been really close friends before but are now strangers with some common memories.
The
definition for a stranger according to Wikipedia is “a person who is unknown to
another person or group. Because of this unknown status, a stranger may be
perceived as a threat.” But if you really think about it, the scope for that
definition has never been as wide as it is now.
That’s it
for today. So go figure who should be a stranger to you and who shouldn’t
before it’s too late! Thank you.
The credits
to the topic goes to one of my favourite seniors Rehna Ilias.
